How To Prepare Your Skin For The Colder Months

Cold winter weather can be hard on our skin. Thankfully, we don’t have to give in and admit defeat for the season. There are several things you can do to keep your skin beautiful and healthy as the weather gets colder and drier.

Hydrate

You know what the first part of this section will be: drink more water. Our bodies rely on water to function properly, including to maintain skin health, but most of us don’t drink enough water.

Cold weather is an excellent time to add green or herbal teas into your routine. These are additional liquids which will boost your hydration, and depending on which teas you choose, they may contain antioxidants and other beneficial nutrients.

You should also eat foods with higher water content like more fruits and vegetables, such as:

  • Cucumbers
  • Spinach
  • Tomatoes
  • Mushrooms
  • Broccoli
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Carrots
  • Oranges
  • Apples
  • Blueberries

Take Baths

Add baths and maybe even foot baths into your routine and include some enjoyable bath oils. While the water hydrates from within, you can hydrate your skin from the outside utilising baths with oil.

Moisturize

If you don’t normally do it, incorporate moisturisers and face masks into your skin care routine. Your skin needs the hydration, and you’ll feel super pampered and fresh. Use our Overnight Reset CBD Face Mask 2-3 times a week for best results.

CBD protects the skin, bringing anti-sebum, antioxidant and skin conditioning benefits.

Optimise Lip Balm Use

Dermatologists recommend that you apply balm when you wake up, after each time you eat, and before bed. Our CBD lip balm nourishes, hydrates and soothes chapped lips.

Give Yourself A Facial Massage

Massaging your skin encourages lymphatic draining, eases tension, and reduces inflammation and puffiness. You can incorporate your facial massage into your existing routine by massaging your skin as you apply one of the products you already use. Just gently caress your eyebrows, temples, eyelids, under your eyes, cheekbones, mouth, and jawbone.

Stay Warm With Layers

Our first instinct is to crank the heat up in the winter, or to get a long super hot bath, but both of these tactics dry out your skin. It’s better to keep yourself warm by wearing more clothes and wrapping up with blankets than relying mostly on heat.
